These programs are a fantastic opportunity if you’re exploring your potential, considering a job that only a four-year degree will secure, opening your own business or simply looking for top-notch instruction. If you are thinking about building websites, doing graphic design, animation, fine arts or photography, these programs are for you.
Major four-year art colleges are keenly aware of the excellent instructors and noteworthy art program at Kirtland. Some say they know when they have a Kirtland art student because of the high caliber of their work — and they want more.
Kirtland Animation & Game Design and Graphic Design instructors are nationally accredited artists with major accomplishments and powerful relationships with four-year art colleges. Kirtland art graduates have continued their education at the College of Creative Studies in Detroit and the Kendall College of Art and Design in Grand Rapids.
Kirtland’s Animation & Game Design is an Associate in Applied Science degree. It includes three-dimensional product design and graphic design courses. This program will make your vision of working with creative people who like to play a reality for you. Kirtland’s nationally recognized program will prepare you for a fun and fruitful future. The software publishing industry has more than doubled in nearly two decades and opportunities are everywhere. You could demand $40 per hour and be worth close to $80,000 per year in the software design and animation field because of your associate’s degree in animation and game design. Almost anyone — regardless of core artistic talent — can make their way into this field.
If you look at websites and think they could look and function better, Kirtland’s associate degree in Web Design & Internet Development may be a natural path for you. Even though Kirtland’s Web courses are taught through the Computer Information Services department, they focus heavily on design. You’ll become adept in code-cutting, programming, search engine optimization, hardware and server issues. You could start your own business or have one of the hottest jobs around: developing, improving and maintaining websites for a living. Income levels obviously are determined by your level of education and savvy, but high-end Webmasters in the private sector demand in the upwards of $75,000 per year.
