Want to be a correctional officer in the Michigan prison system? The Correctional Officer Certificate is a 32-credit program that prepares you for the day-to-day challenges of this career path. It is a corrections-based curriculum that incorporates:

If you want more job opportunities in Michigan’s prison system, the Associate in Applied Science — Corrections Administration degree is for you. This two-year curriculum will familiarize you with all segments of the criminal justice system with major emphasis on:

All candidates must maintain a 2.0 cumulative GPA or better, with a grade of C or better in all emergency services courses. A mandatory dress code is in effect for all students enrolled in the emergency services curriculum. Students have the opportunity to plan for transfer to a four-year college or university.
Students planning to transfer to a four-year college or university must consult with an advisor and carefully study the requirements of the four-year institution from which they intend to secure a bachelor's degree.
