You'll never be bored as an industrial maintenance mechanic.
You'll always be in demand because every facility needs someone to make it run.
The Kirtland Industrial Maintenance program, delivered at the M-TEC site in Gaylord, will give you the skills and training you need to pursue a career as a:
- welder
- millwright
- pipe-fitter or
- electrician
Kirtland's Industrial Maintenance classes will prepare you to install, maintain, repair and replace industrial equipment on the most up-to-date equipment.
You will learn the components connected to the proper function of mechanical systems. You also will learn to read electrical schematics and blueprints — important skills you'll need to maintain, trouble-shoot and prevent problems in mechanical and industrial systems.
You'll never really know what systems you will encounter on a daily basis in your industrial maintenance career. On the job you may work on the mechanical drive of a production machine in the morning and replace the seals in a hydraulic press that afternoon. The next day you may perform maintenance on the mechanical components of a heating unit or repair faulty electrical controls in an industrial chiller.
If you choose to earn an associate's degree, you'll also receive graphics and computer-aided drafting training, as well as general education classes that will boost your general knowledge or used to transfer to a four-year university.
Whether you graduate from KCC with an associate's degree or a certificate, you will have all the skills and knowledge you need to have an edge in the job market.
