For Presidential Search Interview with Dr. Tom Quinn

April 18, 2007

CALL TO ORDER

Chair Sally Galer called the meeting to order at 9:09 a.m.

ROLL CALL

Members Present:      Sally Galer, Roy Spangler, Richard Silverman, Denis Weiss, Roberta Werle

Members Absent:        Robert Bovee, Patricia Webb

Others Present:          Detmar Finke, Kathy Koch, Doty Latuszek, Dr. Tom Quinn, Dale Shantz,

WELCOME

Members and guests were welcomed by Chair Sally Galer. Introductions were made around the room.

PRESIDENTIAL CANDIDATE INTERVIEW

Dr. Quinn was introduced by Dale Shantz, Human Resources Director, who facilitated the interview.  Dr. Quinn stated that he prefers to be called Tom.

A break was declared from 10:15 to 10:33 a.m.

A three minute break was called at 11:47 a.m.

Each board member offered questions of the candidate in addition to the prepared questions posed by Dale Shantz.

OPEN DISCUSSION

Doty Latuszek asked what the term “community” in community college means to him and asked for examples. Detmar Finke asked what kind of things Dr. Quinn did to prepare for this interview.

ADJOURNMENT

The meeting was declared adjourned at 12: 06 p.m. to be followed by an informal lunch with the candidate and the board. Note: Trustee Patricia Webb joined the board for lunch.
