In-home Personal Support Provider 

For one senior client with medical and personal care needs. This is a part time position, live-in or out, at 3 minutes distance from Kirtland College. This position will suit a caring, dedicated individual who will help with grooming, cooking, laundry, light cleaning and most importantly companionship while giving relief to the current nursing companion. Who is qualified?
Social Security often uses a special hiring authority called Veterans Recruitment Authority(VRA).  This is a non-competitive appointment that certain Veterans can qualify for.  The following individuals are eligible to apply for VRA appointment:
–      Disabled veterans;
–      Veterans who served on active duty in the Armed Forces during a war declared by Congress, or in a campaign or expedition for which a campaign badge has been authorized.
–      Veterans who, while serving on active duty in the Armed Forces, participated in a military operation for which the Armed Forces Service Medal was awarded; and
–      Veterans separated from active duty within the past 3 years
–      Must be separated under honorable conditions.
–        There is no minimum service requirement, but the individual must have served on active duty, not active duty for training.
In addition to the above VRA qualifications, these entry level positions require at least a Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in a similar position.
