Kirtland Community College’s Community Education Department and the Roscommon County Commission on Aging (RCCOA) will bring a series informational computer courses to community members in Roscommon and surrounding counties. The courses are being held at the RCCOA on 2625 South Townline Road in Houghton Lake and the cost for each is $10. Classes are limited to 10 participants.
“Computer Basics” is a hands-on introduction to the personal computer and focuses on the key elements of the desktop as well as a comprehensive review of the mouse. This course will be held on March 16 from 1:30-4:30 p.m.
On March 23 from 1:30-4:30 p.m., “Windows 8.1” will explore the new Windows 8.1 interface, start screen, live tiles, hot corners, charms bar, sky drive, and security. It features a web driven tutorial that students can review during class and at home.
“Cut, Copy & Paste” focuses on the computer clipboard and the many ways to add remove or relocate text, images and files. This course will be held March 30 from 1:30-4:30 p.m.
The series concludes on April 6 with “Digital Photography.” This course starts with an overview of digital photography techniques and tips and concludes with instruction in photo editing and digital production. The session will run from 1:30-4:30 p.m.
Kirtland Community Education Director Clay Horton will be the instructor and brings over 25 years of teaching experience to these classes.
