A MESSAGE FROM THE PRESIDENT OF THE FOUNDATION

Dear Foundation Supporters:

It is with great pleasure that I greet you as the President of the Kirtland Community College Foundation. The Foundation, which was founded in 1972, has benefited many students and faculty through grants and scholarships. Likewise, the Foundation has benefited from the talents and commitment of the volunteer Trustees who have served over this same period.

The Foundation is currently providing $14,000 for scholarships and $25,000 in grants. These dollars support a variety of curricula such as Nursing, Math, Cosmetology and Massage Therapy to name a few. On-going grants have been used to support the Kirtland Youth Theatre, the Young Writer’s Seminar and more recently the Katrina Relief effort, which involved sending volunteers from the Building Trades Program.

I think we can all be proud of the efforts of the Foundation to support and encourage our students and faculty in their pursuit of excellence. It is apparent that the dollars raised and reinvested at Kirtland are paying significant dividends. With your generous support the Kirtland Community College Foundation will continue to give scholarships and grants to ensure excellence in our curriculum, students, faculty and the infrastructure that supports them.

We would encourage you to consider making an annual contribution to the Foundation as an investment in our community’s future. Kirtland Community College is dedicated to offering the training and skills so vitally needed in our local job market. Please consider joining this effort with your financial support.

Sincerely,

C. A. “Pepper” Karstendiek
