For the first time in the college history, Kirtland’s mens golf team advanced to Michigan Community College Athletic Association (MCCAA) regional competition in Battle Creek on May 11-12.

Coming back from behind on the second day of the state qualifying tournament on May 4-5, Josh Lueck shot a critical 77 in round three to push Kirtland into a tie with Delta College and qualified the team for a spot in the MCCAA regionals.
Kirtland’s six-player team completed against nine other teams for the chance to advance to regional competition. “The guys came in big on the second day of the qualifying tournament coming from nine strokes behind to finish with a 318” said the team’s coach, Jason Broge. “Mitchael Dunn, Ryan Nagy and Josh Lueck came in with some critical shots to make the difference when it counted, especially Josh’s 77 in the third round which clinched the tie for Kirtland and let us advance.”
