The Kirtland Foundation is continuing its commitment to create a strong sense of community, promote growth of individual endowments, and increase giving potential for students, faculty, and the community by holding a golf outing.
“Our goal is to hold an event that allows members of the community to interact in a fun and exciting way, while also raising funds for the Kirtland Foundation to continue to provide scholarships and grants to our students and faculty,” Jennifer Page, Kirtland Foundation Director of Resource Development, said.
The day will be filled with raffles, contests, prizes and food.
Proceeds from the golf outing will directly benefit three endowments held at the Kirtland Foundation:
1: The KirtLEND Club: This group of vibrant volunteers fundraise in the community to provide microloans for students. The loans often are for incidentals that occur outside of student loans (i.e. gas money).
2: Service Learning Endowment: This endowment generates funds to make service learning projects or trips (i.e. volunteerism) possible for Kirtland students.
3: Kirtland Performing Arts Center: The KCPA endowment provides funds for the operation of the theater as well as affordable arts programming for area communities.
“When we look at the mission of the Kirtland Foundation it’s clear that we not only provide support for the college, but we also aim to provide positive experiences for our students and surrounding communities,” Page said. “Creating events that encourage Kirtland staff, faculty, students, and community members to interact and learn from each other, such as the upcoming golf outing, gets us closer to that mission.”
The golf outing will begin with a Shotgun Start at 9 a.m. on Aug. 25, at the Fox Run Country Club, located on West Four Mile Road in Grayling. The cost is $80 per person for four-person teams. Registration forms are available at www.kirtland.edu/foundation. Team registrations can be completed via http://www.kirtland.edu/foundation/charitable-golf-outing. Sponsorships are available.
