Do you know the difference between graduation and commencement?

2014 CommencementGraduation is the actual awarding of a degree or certificate.  They are awarded each semester (Fall, Winter and Summer).  The graduation and diploma dates are always the last day of the graduating semester.

Commencement is the ceremony honoring those receiving degrees and certificates.  Kirtland Community College has only one Commencement held on the last Friday of the Winter semester. The ceremony will last approximately two hours.

Commencement will be held Friday, May 1, 2015, at 6:30 p.m. in the Kirtland Auditorium.
