Graduation & Commencement

Congratulations Graduates!

ALL extra tickets have been given away for the ceremony.  All winners were notified by phone. Please do not call KCC looking for extra tickets.  Students have been asked to bring any extra tickets to rehearsal to give to students still in need.  Rehearsal is Friday at noon.  All students who are walking in the ceremony need to attend.

You will find valuable information in this guide and steps you must follow as you get ready for graduation and commencement.

This is a very special time for you and your family. Please be sure to let everyone know the important details and share the commencement web page and guide with them.

If you have any additional questions regarding graduation or commencement that are not addressed on these graduation and commencement website pages, contact Jo Ann Gave in the Student Service Office.  You can reach her at (989)275-5000, ext. 289, or by email at joann.gave@kirtland.edu.

Do you know the difference between graduation and commencement?

Graduation is the actual awarding of a degree or certificate.  They are awarded each semester (Fall, Winter and Summer).  The graduation and diploma dates are always the last day of the graduating semester.

Commencement is the ceremony honoring those receiving degrees and certificates.  Kirtland Community College has only one commencement held on the last Friday of the Winter semester. The ceremony will last approximately two hours.

Commencement will be held Friday, April 27, 2012, at 7 p.m. in the KCC Auditorium.

The Process

The process of preparation for graduation and commencement can be confusing. Visit our Steps to Graduate page for a detailed step-by-step guide.

Will I be able to keep my SparkyMail after graduating?

Yes, you will continue to have access to your account as long as Kirtland continues to use Google has their email server.
