Director of Institutional Services

Responsible for the leadership and coordination of the information technology (IT) and facility management services of the college.  This individual has primary responsibility for short and long-range planning of the college’s physical and technical infrastructure to ensure that it supports current and future programming.

PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES*

Information Technology

Provides leadership and supervision to the eServices and facilities directors
Provides administrative oversight of IT organization, planning and budgeting

Coordinates long-range planning activities for the technology infrastructure of the college, including administrative/student information systems, computer networks, personal computers, video systems, and voice communication systems

Establishes standards for desktop computing, user support services and training

Directs IT support services including distance education, media services, network operations and services, student computing, telephony

Develops information security guidelines and recommends policy changes where indicated

Coordinates the activities of institutional research and web services to support the college’s information and communication needs

Provides project management for technology deployment or implementations

Establishes standards for technology hardware, software, and communications protocols

Facilities Management

Coordinates development and oversees implementation of the campus master plan, including facilities assessment

Provides administrative supervision for construction and renovation projects

Serves as administrative member of the target specific bargaining team

Performs other related tasks as required

SUPERVISION – Works under the general supervision of the college president

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • Masters degree in computer information systems, management, or related field
  • Three to five years experience in a supervisory or management role, or a combination of education and experience commensurate with the requirements of the position
  • Demonstrated ability to work cooperatively and collaboratively with college faculty, staff, administration, and governing boards
