EXAMPLES OF DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES (Faculty responsibilities are governed by the provisions in the Master Agreement; those listed below are representative only.)
SUPERVISION – Works under the direct supervision of the director of nursing.
ATTENDANCE – Individuals in this position are expected to be generally present and/or available for instructional purposes or college business when and as required by contract, policy, or reasonable direction of the director of nursing. Regular and reliable attendance is essential to the performance of faculty duties.
WORKING CONDITIONS – Conditions are those of a typical college-level classroom, simulation lab, and office. Individuals in this position must be cognizant of student’s understanding and progress, able to effectively monitor simulated handling of drugs, equipment, patients and medical procedures, able to communicate effectively with students and associated professionals, and able to effectively use state-of-the-art communications and instructional equipment in a modern classroom, medical training lab, or online environment.
- RN with Master’s Degree in Nursing
- Current Michigan Nursing License
- Specialty certification preferred
- Experience within the last three years in nursing practice or nursing education, or experience and education commensurate with the requirements of the position
- Minimum of two years of work related experience in medical/surgical and maternal-newborn care
- Traditional and online teaching experience highly desirable
- Willingness to teach in varying locations in Kirtland’s service area
- Ability to work collaboratively and effectively in an educational setting

COMPENSATION – Current master’s prepared faculty receive a base compensation for 32 weeks of instruction of $44,897 to $74,959, commensurate with experience and credentials.
