Kirtland Offering All Grain Beer Brewing Class

Kirtland’s Community Education department is offering Introduction to Beer Brewing in the Vocational Tech building on the Roscommon campus on Saturday, July 26 from 10 a.m. – 4 p.m. The cost of the course is $29 and you must be 21 years of age or older to participate.

Kirtland’s Community Education Department is offering an all grain brewing class to teach participants how to produce beer entirely from scratch

This one-day course lets you explore the art and science of home beer brewing and long-time, local brewer Matt Bierman will lead you through the process. Matt is a seasoned veteran of both beer and wine production and will show you how to produce your own homemade beer entirely from scratch. Upon completion of the course, participants will sample the finished product.

Introduction to Beer Brewing CEC 16260 explores the essential facets of all grain home beer production. Learn about then entire brewing process, obtaining brewing equipment, blending the ingredients and brewing beer using the exact ingredients the larger brewers use but in a batch size and process and geared to new and experienced extract-based brewers alike. Information on the technical aspects of brewing and the science behind the both all grain and general brewing processes will also be covered.
