Michigan Works! and Kirtland Community College are presenting a regional Opportunity Expo and Career Fair on at the Kirtland Student Center, 10775 North St. Helen Road, Roscommon, on Tuesday, March 27th from 11 a.m. – 3 p.m. Representatives from forty local businesses in Crawford, Oscoda, Roscommon and Ogemaw counties will attend and share information with interested job seekers regarding current job vacancies, and to provide information about company hiring processes and employment needs. Industries represented will include manufacturing, healthcare, hospitality, customer service and retail. In addition, representatives from Kirtland Community College will be available to answer questions about educational opportunities, financial aid, admissions, registration and program advising.
Brenda Bachelder, Business Solutions Professional for both Roscommon and Ogemaw Michigan Works! says, “This event will give the job seeker a chance to explore today’s careers and tomorrow’s possibilities. Not only will the job seeker be able to network with employers from the four counties, they will be able to apply for full time, part time and seasonal employment opportunities.”
According to Fran Whitney, Business Liaison for both Crawford and Oscoda Michigan Works!, “This year’s Expo will bring employers and employees together, creating opportunity for both. Networking is an effective tool to create synergies with other businesses, small and large, and to enhance the local workforce.” Fran goes on to say, “The event will give potential employees a direct connection to area employers.”

There is no charge to attend the regional Opportunity Expo and Career Fair and job seekers are encouraged to dress professionally and bring copies of their resumes.
