Kirtland’s Community Education department is offering Introduction to Beer Brewing in the Vocational Tech building on the Roscommon campus on Saturday, March 15 from 1-4 p.m.
This afternoon course lets you explore the art and science of home beer brewing and long-time, local brewer Matt Bierman will lead you through the process. Matt is a seasoned veteran of both beer and wine production and will show you how to produce a tasty specialty Irish Red Ale just in time for St Patrick’s Day.
Introduction to Beer Brewing CEC 16260 explores the essential facets of home beer production. Learn about selecting a brew, obtaining brewing equipment, blending the ingredients and brewing the beer. You will also learn about brewing safety, sanitation and acceptable bottling techniques. Participants in the course will also sample the finished product. You’ll work with a master brewer who’s well versed in the art, as well as the science, of beer brewing.
