Kirtland Community College Foundation Announces Fall Scholarship Awards

The Kirtland Community College Foundation recently awarded $4,200 in scholarships, providing financial support for deserving students to offset the cost of pursuing higher education in one of Kirtland’s academic programs.  Multiple endowed scholarship funds exist, providing vital support to one of the central missions of the college, which is to offer affordable educational opportunities for the citizens of the Kirtland region.

The Fall 2011 recipients are:

Ron & Melanie Marino Memorial Scholarship – Theresa Andrews, $500

Robert Bovee Scholarship for Health Sciences – Andrew Seaford, $500

James Fryfogle Memorial Scholarship – Nicole VanDeCasteele, $750

Patricia Hill Nursing Scholarship – Paola Penaloza, $500

Jean King Memorial Scholarship – Iryna Riegle, $50

Steve Oppy Memorial Scholarship – Patricia Edwards, $500

Steve Oppy Memorial Scholarship – Samantha Jones, $500

Keith Rich Trust – Tamara Balyo, $500

Miller Trust – Dmitry Riegle, $200

Miller Trust – Iryna Riegle, $200

Kirtland Community College provides open access to education and cultural opportunities to enrich the lives of the people in Northern Michigan.  The faculty and staff of Kirtland seek to offer higher education in a student-focused environment, providing transfer and career technical programs; developmental studies; workforce development; personal enrichment and cultural opportunities.

The Kirtland Community College Foundation seeks to strengthen communities by supporting Kirtland Community College and its students.  KirtlandF was established in 1972 for the purpose of soliciting funds from the private sector to augment and extend the financial base of the college. As a non-profit corporation with a 501(3)c, the Foundation can solicit funds and receive tax deductible gifts and hold administer, manage, use, and distribute these gifts for the benefit of the college and its community. Any gift to Kirtland, restricted or unrestricted, may be made through the Foundation.
