If life is a journey filled with constant discoveries, we’ve definitely been giving our local eighth graders something to think about. This Week @ Kirtland, we’ve been on a mission. A College Exploration Mission. And our explorers? About 600 eighth grade students from our nearby…and not so nearby…communities!
In two separate sessions, we’ve had young learners from Fairview, Grayling, Houghton Lake, Roscommon, Mio, West Branch – even Forest Area – on our Roscommon Campus to explore their college options. Future college students? We sure hope so! And, to help them start thinking about the big choices they’ll need to make in the next few years, our talented and experienced Kirtland faculty members spent time explaining a variety of job and career choices to our visitors.
Automotive. Health Sciences. Cosmetology. Computers. History. Business. These were just a handful of the career fields our eighth grade college explorers learned about during their visits. Yesterday, the lucky Forest Area group even got a pre-screening of the amazing annual Student Art Show which is being held tonight. Needless to say, there were more than a few students interested in exploring art as a career! Want to see more? Check out the pictures we’ve posted on our Facebook page!
Life is, indeed, a journey. This Week @ Kirtland, it’s been very exciting helping so many young learners from throughout our local communities to start their journey and explore their options for the future.
