Kirtland golf coach Jason Broge has recruited Ryan Nagy from Roscommon High School and Michael and Mitchael Dunn from Kalkaska High School to join Kirtland’s 2014-15 golf team. All three golfers have recently signed their letters of intent, indicating their commitment to attend Kirtland as student athletes.
Each golfer will receive athletic scholarships to attend Kirtland in the fall and will join returning golf team members Josh Walker, Ryan French and Josh Lueck. The team will continue to be coached by Jason Broge.
The mission of the athletic program is to provide men and women with the opportunity to learn and grow as a result of participating in a high-quality intercollegiate program. The program also attempts to improve student life and, in turn, improve the recruitment and retention of students. The athletic program also seeks to increase community involvement with Kirtland by providing sports entertainment at a level that previously has not been offered in the Kirtland region.
Kirtland competes in intercollegiate athletics as a member of the Eastern Conference of the Michigan Community College Athletic Association. The Kirtland Firebirds compete in men’s and women’s golf and cross-country running. For more information, contact Athletic Director Don Haskin at 989-275-5000, ext. 385.
