The Lady Firebirds opened the 2012-13 basketball season at Rochester College by edging the Lady Warrior’s JV team by a score of 57-55. The ‘Birds were led by Sladana (Sly) Radulovic’s (Serbia) with 25 points and Tasha Crouse’s (Central Lake) contributing 14 points.
Crouse collected most of her points with her outside shooting, hitting 40% from 3-point land. Tara Throop (Mt. Pleasant Sacred Heart) chipped in eight points and three assists, while Melissa Hansen (Toronto, Canada) and Crouse each adding three assists as well.
The women’s next game will be at Lake Superior State University on November 18. The next home game is against Alma College on November 23 when Kirtland hosts the Steve Oppy Thanksgiving Tournament in Mio.
