Kirtland’s hybrid* Pharmacy Technology Certificate program virtually guarantees a future filled with great income, a flexible work schedule and the ability to find a job almost anywhere you go in our mobile society.
The Pharmacy Technology program at Kirtland is a two-semester certificate program that will prepare you for a variety of entry-level pharmacy technician positions. During the second semester of the program, you will spend 288 hours in an internship under the direct supervision of a pharmacist.
Once you complete KCC’s hybrid 25-credit-hour program and clinical experience in the second semester, you will be qualified to work under the supervision of a registered pharmacist. You will be able to order, stock, prepare and package medications in any of these settings:
Hospitals
Retail Pharmacies
Nursing Homes
Long-term Care Facilities
Mail-order or Online Services
Pharmacy Technician jobs are expected to grow by 31 percent by 2018. Median income levels for Pharmacy Techs in Michigan were more than $13 per hour in 2008, according to the Bureau of Labor Statistics.

After you’ve earned your Pharmacy Tech certificate with Kirtland, you will be eligible to take the Pharmacy Technician Certification Board National Certification Exam. You even could use your credits to continue your education and earn Associate’s in Applied Science degrees in:
- Cardiac Sonography
- Nursing – Level II
(full- and part-time programs) - Surgical Technology
