The Kirtland Regional Policy Academy (KRPA) recently recognized its 45th graduating class. Eight academy cadets were joined by family, friends and staff at the Kirtland Grayling Community Center to honor both group and individual accomplishments.
Before receiving individual awards and diplomas, cadets and guests listened to speakers Tom Grace, KRPA Director, True North licensed counselor and Kirtland adjunct professor Kristine Goodroe and Class 45 cadet Timothy Yuergens.
Following the speaker addresses, cadets were recognized for a variety of accomplishments and awards.
The Michigan Commission on Law Enforcement Standards (MCOLES) Outstanding Performance Award was given to Timothy Yuergens. Jeremy Kauffman received top honor for Physical Fitness and Jamie Hamilton was recognized as most improved. Jacob Hughes received first in class and Brittany Garst was recognized as most improved for Defensive Tactics. Cadet Jeremy Kauffman received Top Shooter recognition for marksmanship and Jamie Hamilton was recognized as Most Improved Shooter. Jacob Hughes and Alan Taylor were honored for Support Team honors.
In closing, Grace congratulated cadets, sharing, “Welcome to the Kirtland alumni family. We will always be here for you.”
