- Each department head is responsible for notifying the director of human resources when an employee will be temporarily assigned work in a higher classified job.
- The director of human resources will determine the necessary increase to the employee’s base rate of pay and authorize the appropriate temporary pay rate.
- The director of human resources should ensure that the duration of temporary reclassification is clearly noted in the employee’s personnel file.
- Any step increase or market adjustment increase that falls during the period of temporary reclassification will be calculated using the employee’s normal base pay rate.
