Do you remember how crazy it was at 8 a.m. the first day of registration? The system could barely keep up with all the folks trying to get their classes online. And those lines? Sometimes we would only give you three days to register! Not anymore! We have been trying to come up with a new registration process to eliminate all those aggravating headaches our returning students ran into. And we did it!
Please read this very closely because it will affect every returning student.
Previously, registration would open and close. We are now transitioning to a rolling registration model. Once it is open, it will stay open. Periodically, the registration site will close for maintenance or for accounting purposes – but other than those few days, it will stay open until the semester begins.
The new registration model is called “Priority Registration.” The following is an explanation of how the registration process will work:
Students with 30 or more earned credit hours will be able to register for summer & fall classes first on April 4th starting at 8 a.m. (you can grab those classes you need to graduate first!)
Students with 12 or more credits will be allowed to register starting on April 5th at 8 a.m. for summer & fall classes.
Any other returning student will be able to register online on April 6th at 8 a.m. for both semesters.
Summer registration will stay open until Sunday, May 15, 11:59 p.m.
Fall Registration will stay open until Friday, August 19, at 4:30 p.m.
Please keep in mind; these dates are ONLY for returning students. First time students to KCC or transfer students will have different registration dates.
In an effort to save a few trees and some money, the college will not print the class schedules any longer. You will be able to view the classes starting March 7, in myKirtland.
Please make sure you are looking in the correct semester (2010-2011 Summer) or (2011-2012 Fall).
We heard your complaints loud and clear – we hope we have made your life just a little bit easier with these changes! And, by the way, if you reply to this email saying you have read it, you will be entered into a gas card drawing on March 18. You will be contacted by SparkyMail if you are the lucky winner.
