Single Sign-on

Kirtland is moving to Single Sign-on

There will be a change for how you will log into some of your web applications (i.e. SparkyEmail, myKirtland, Canvas, etc.), but the change shouldn’t be too big if you can remember your myKirtland login.

What is Single Sign-On?

The benefits of Single Sign-On (SSO) are that once you log in, you do not need log in again for certain web applications.  This also means that we are working toward a way in which staff and students have one username and password that gives each individual access to all their information with less hassle. We are going through the process of enabling these applications to work with our Single Sign-On system, so not all of them are available with SSO, but they will be in the future.

What applications are using Single Sign-On (SSO) and when will this change take place?

SSO will be turned on Tuesday night, August 21, at 10 p.m. for major apps including myKirtland, SparkyEmail, and Canvas.  You will not have access to these services at that point in time.  Expect these services to be down for about two hours.  The goal is to have SSO for these services up and going on Wednesday.

How do I know if a Kirtland application uses SSO?

If you get this login screen or if you find yourself magically logged in to a Kirtland web application after being logged in to another one.  If you do not see this login screen when accessing an application, log in with the username and password that you normally do.

How do I log in?

Access your online service from the Kirtland website very top menu bar (click the image for a larger view) under the Sign in dropdown:

Single Sign-on Dropdown Menu

Username: Your Student ID#
Password: Your myKirtland Password

What do I do if I have trouble logging in?

If you are having problems with SSO, please contact the eServices department (275-5000, ext. 499) and they can help.
