Welcome to the Warbler's Nest
(Kirtland Early Childhood Learning Center)!
The Early Childhood Learning Center was established to enhance developmental growth of all children and provide parents with quality child care. Children are guided to develop an initiative for learning, as well as a comfortable sense of self.
Our commitment is to the development of all aspects of the child; his or her self-image, creativity, physical potential and emotional growth. Children are grouped according to their developmental age, and activities are provided to enhance their skill levels.
The way in which a child views him or herself is the stepping stone from which he or she approaches all aspects of life. Children who feel loved, feel safe and secure. They develop a confidence that allows them to take risks, to try. The environment we maintain for the child stimulates their interest and encourages them to explore. This environment satisfies their natural curiosity and allows them to experience success again and again.
The physical growth of each child is enhanced by providing appropriate facilities, and many opportunities to use them. A child's physical growth is nurtured by our clean spacious environment, good hygiene, nutritious meals and snacks, safe toys and equipment, as well as a balanced program that allows for physical activity indoors and outdoors.
Emotionally a child is helped to maintain a balance as they learn to acknowledge each other's needs and feelings. By treating them accordingly, they learn to have respect for others.
Cognitive development and intellectual growth is fostered by choosing experiences that are appropriate to his or her interest level. We assume the responsibility of seeing that objects available for children to play with and explore are interesting and challenging.
Social development of the child is supported by trained adults, as they begin to interact successfully with their peers.
Interest areas in our program include science, creative movement, art, math, music, and language. Our staff is experienced in the appropriate areas. At all times there is a minimum of one staff member for every eight preschool children, one staff person for every ten school-age children, and one staff member for every four infants and toddlers.
