Kirtland’s Community Education department is offering a winter car maintenance course on Tuesday, Dec. 15 from 6-9 p.m. in the Automotive Technology building on the main campus in Roscommon.
Kirtland Automotive Technology instructor Dean Van Wormer will review important winter car preparedness tips and safety planning to help drivers prepare for emergencies and bad weather conditions as we enter into the winter driving season. Van Wormer is also a Kirtland graduate and has been employed at Hart Motor in West Branch for 15 years.
“Dean will cover topics from engine maintenance to batteries to worn tires and wiper blades to making sure lights and bulbs are in proper working condition,” said Kirtland Community Education Director Clay Horton. “Dean has extensive automotive experience and Kirtland’s Automotive Tech program is ASE certified, which means we are committed to educating students on the importance of quality automotive service, repair and maintenance.
“The timing for this winter maintenance course is perfect as we move into the coming winter months.”
The course fee is $24. To find out more about the winter car maintenance course or to enroll, contact the Community Education office at 989-275-5000, ext. 279.
