SUMMARY:Deconstructing the Flow: Yoga Technique and Philosophy
DESCRIPTION:\n75 minutes • Build Strength • Deepen Understanding\n\n\n\nThis course goes beyond a standard studio class by combining a classic flow with workshop-style breakdowns of key poses. You will learn the mechanics of strategic postures to build strength, prevent injury, and improve flexibility. Alongside the physical practice, we will explore practical philosophical concepts that you can apply both on and off the mat. Perfect for students looking for a deeper, more intentional understanding of their yoga journey.\n\n\n\nAbout the Instructor\n\n\n\nAmy Bowman, E-RYT 200\n\n\n\nAmy Bowman is an E-RYT 200 yoga instructor with over 1,000 hours of studio teaching experience and a personal practice that began in 2006. Known for her grounded, approachable teaching style, Amy creates classes where students feel supported, informed, and at ease in their bodies.\n\n\n\nHer recent continuing education has focused on yoga for the female anatomy. While traditional yoga was largely developed around the male body, emerging research highlights alignment variations and cueing that better support women’s bodies. Amy is passionate about sharing these options, empowering students to move in ways that feel sustainable, anatomically informed, and genuinely supportive.\n\n\n\nBreathwork is at the heart of Amy’s teaching. She believes the breath is the true foundation of yoga—often reminding students that if you’re sitting on your mat and breathing, you’re already doing yoga.\n\n\n\nOutside the studio, Amy works full-time, is a mom, a devoted dog lover, and an enthusiastic explorer of the outdoors.\n\n\n\nSign up soon, space is limited, designed for adult students 18 and over. The Class meets from Oct 20 – Nov 10 on Tuesday evenings in Gaylord. Cost: $70.\n
