Part-Time Information Desk Receptionist
PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES*
- Greet visitors to the Grayling location and direct them to the proper location.
- Check in students visiting the Student Services Center.
- Manage the college’s non-academic calendar.
- Respond to telephone inquiries and appropriately transfer calls as needed.
- Keep brochure/information racks in lobby stocked.
- Acts as backup for updating display monitors at the Grayling campus.
- Other duties as assigned
SUPERVISION – Works under the general supervision of the VP of Student Services
ATTENDANCE – Individuals in this position are expected to be available during the peak business hours of the College, including nights and weekends, or as otherwise required.
WORKING CONDITIONS – Conditions are those of a typical office environment, requiring frequent oral and electronic communication with students, college staff, and the public, a high level of professionalism with clientele, a commitment to confidentiality, and the ability to enter and retrieve data and written communications in electronic format in a timely manner.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
- High school diploma or GED
- Proficiency in common office software applications, including word processing and PowerPoint (tables, graphs, charts, 45 wpm accurate keyboarding) and ability to learn and use a variety of personal computer software
- Demonstrated interpersonal communication skills
- Ability to work effectively with adults in an educational setting
