Young Illustrators Art

Ages 11+
Learn the basics of creating characters for comics, games, and movies and how to bring them to life, creating your artistic legacy. Classes take place at the Kirtland Grayling location in the Art Department with Scott Rice.
BioExplorers Camp
June 24, 25 26
1-3 p.m.
Ages 12-17
Biology is a big subject and is full of hands-on fun. Join us at Kirtland this summer to learn to use microscopes, and learn about how biology applies to forensic investigation, and DNA research. Participants will also learn about blood typing, animal behavior, dissection, human anatomy/physiology, and insects.
Crash Course in Automotive

9 a.m.-12 p.m.
Ages 14+
Are you ready to learn about the automotive technician world? Kirtland Automotive instructors will teach students basic under-hood inspection and maintenance skills. The brand-new auto lab at the Kirtland Grayling location is outfitted with state-of-the-art technology that will allow students to gain insight into the automotive industry. Participants will learn about tune-ups, brake repair, computer-based diagnostics, scan tools, shop safety, and electrical systems.
Junior Creative Writing

Ages 11-13
Students will gain appreciation for creative writing and collaboratively compose a story for our newest Kirtland coloring book that will feature Sparky the Firebird, our mascot. Sparky will also make an appearance to inspire our writing!
Future Nurses

Ages 12-17
Try out your healing hands as a future nurse. Learn to care for different types of wounds, and the miraculous process of healing. Engage in many day to day nursing scenarios taking care of patients in the high tech simulation lab.
Advanced Creative Writing
June 12, 19, 26
10 a.m. – 3 p.m.
Ages 14+
This course will include a two-hour morning session, a one-hour lunch break, and a two-hour afternoon session on three days across three weeks. In the morning sessions, students will develop a short creative writing project (short story, poem, etc.) and revise based on feedback. They will receive resources and support to pursue publication of their project or continue developing it for their personal use. In the afternoon sessions, students will support our junior creative writers in writing a story for our newest Kirtland coloring book!
HVAC Stay Cool & Heat Things Up!

Dive into the world of heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC) in this interactive, hands-on camp! Explore how modern climate control systems work, experiment with real tools of the trade, and uncover the science behind keeping homes and businesses comfortable year-round. Led by an experienced HVAC instructor, students will learn the fundamentals of electricity, air pressure, sheet metal fabrication, and more—while creating a custom project to take home!
Camp Highlights:
- Explore Basic Electricity used in HVAC systems through hands-on demonstrations
- Discover how Temperatures & Pressures impact airflow and cooling with fun experiments and real equipment
- Watch a Refrigeration Trainer in action and learn how cooling systems operate
- Try your hand at Sheet Metal Fabrication by building your own desktop pencil container
- Learn about tools, trades, and career pathways in the HVAC industry
Wired for Success: Exploring Electricity

Join us for a hands-on camp where you’ll learn the fundamentals of working safely with electricity while gaining practical skills used by electrical professionals.
- Understand electrical circuits – Learn about common components, devices, and safety practices.
- Build and test circuits – Wire and troubleshoot basic electrical circuits using a digital multimeter.
- Hands-on wiring projects – Solder and wire an electrical outlet, switch, and light.
- Industry experience – Tour Arauco to explore real-world applications and career opportunities in the electrical field.
This camp is perfect for students interested in learning essential electrical skills and exploring careers in the industry!
Game On! Competitive & Strategic Play Camp

Welcome to our Esports Camp! We are excited to offer a unique and engaging summer camp experience for gamers of all levels. Our campers will have the opportunity to learn from experienced coaches, compete in organized tournaments, and make new friends who share their passion for gaming. Our experienced coaches will provide training to help campers improve their skills and learn new strategies. Campers will have the opportunity to meet and connect with other gamers who share their passion for Esports.
