In the Spring of 2022, Amy Roy began serving as the “Acting Director of Nursing” for three months. In July of 2022, Amy officially became the Director of Nursing and Allied Health. Amy began her work as a full time nursing faculty in August of 2015. Amy has been a nurse for over 20 years. In 2024, Amy went through the Michigan Community College Association Leadership Academy and became a Leadership Fellow in September 2025.
As the Director of Nursing and Allied Health, Amy oversees Nursing, Medical Assistant, Medical Billing and Coding, and Phlebotomy. With the Nursing Department, she manages the National Accreditation with the National League for Nursing Commission for Nursing Education Accreditation (NLN CNEA) for the Nursing Program as well as assisting faculty in developing curriculum. For all programs, Amy oversees the faculty that teach in the programs. She also manages the budgets for these departments and sets up schedules for faculty. Amy also manages student concerns within these programs and oversees the hiring of new faculty and staff. Amy serves on the Curriculum Committee and the Assessment Committee.
Amy Roy obtained three degrees from Saginaw Valley State University. A Bachelor of Science in Biology, Minor in Psychology (2002), Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) (2005), and Masters of Science in Nursing (MSN) (2014). She is currently pursuing her DNP from American Sentinel College of Nursing and Health Science through Post University with an anticipated graduation date of December of 2026.
