STEP DETAILS
Step 1
Review your acceptance letter and access your KMail
The acceptance letter you will receive in the postal mail will remind you of your student ID number, account access information and provides details about any documents you may need to turn in.
Please don’t wait to access your KMail! It is important that you can log in. Be sure to change your password. Plan to check your KMail often. Kirtland will send important information about your student account and finances to your KMail.
Step 2
Request transcripts
If you have attended college elsewhere since you last attended Kirtland, be sure to have an official copy of your transcript(s) sent directly to:
Office of Admissions
Kirtland Community College
4800 W 4 Mile Rd
Grayling, MI 49738
Electronic copies may be sent to [email protected].
Step 3
Completing the FAFSA is how you get grants, loans or work study
Complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). APPLY EARLY! It takes time to process.
Go to the how to apply for financial aid page for step-by-step instructions.

Acceptable proof includes: driver’s license, verifiable rent receipts (if rent receipts are not available, a notarized letter from the landlord will be accepted), a dated lease agreement, Voter Registration card, place of residence property tax receipt (if property is owned by student or student’s parent/guardian), or Secretary of State identification card. Verifiable rent receipts must contain all the following information: the address of the property being rented; the date of payment; signature, address and phone number of the landlord. These documents can be emailed to [email protected].
Step 5
For registration or other assistance, make an advising appointment.
