When you complete our program, you’ll be eligible to take the nurse aide competency exam through Prometric, which is nationally recognized in the State of Michigan. Once you pass, you’ll be listed on the Michigan Certified Nurse Aide (CNA) Registry—and ready to step into a career that truly matters.

Training Information
Kirtland Community College’s Nurse Aide training program prepares students to test for certification for nursing assistant positions anywhere in Michigan. The 6 – week, 111-hour training, is designed for individuals looking to validate and grow their skills in a short amount of time and upon completion offers many employment opportunities. The program includes classroom, lab, clinical components in a local long term care facility and state exam preparation.
Once the interest form is received, Kirtland’s nursing department will work directly with students to ensure all requirements are met. Once entry requirements are met and payment arrangements are made students will be registered.
The cost of the Certified Nursing Assistant training is $1,124.00, due in full at the time of registration other costs for the books, background check and drug screen are additional. Students must wear maroon scrubs for all class and clinic hours. The textbook and the workbook are available for purchase at any time prior to class start.
Some local care facilities may choose to sponsor students by covering the cost of training. We encourage anyone interested to call the care facilities directly for more information and availability. Students receiving financial assistance through a third party agency will not be considered registered until written confirmation has been received from the third party agency.
