Kirtland Foundation Opens Winter 2023 Scholarship Programs for Submissions
The Kirtland Foundation announced Monday, Oct. 3, the opening for their Winter 2023 Scholarship programs.
“The opportunity for the Foundation and its donors to support Kirtland students is one we take pride in. We see their struggles and know they are trying hard to reach a career goal and by awarding scholarships to deserving students we are building stronger leaders for our communities,” said Kirtland Foundation’s Director Heather Appold.
The Kirtland Foundation’s winter scholarships, open for submissions from Oct. 3-Nov. 27, is an annual event reserved for all current and winter enrolling students at Kirtland Community College. Nearly every program offered at Kirtland is covered by a scholarship and as students apply their application is automatically applied to all. Making it so that students do not have to apply to only one specific scholarship at a time.
“Being awarded this scholarship relieves an enormous amount of stress from my shoulders,” said Paige Galbraith, a current Kirtland art student. “My goal is to get the most out of my time here at Kirtland and transfer to a 4-year university to continue my education in art.”
The vision of the Kirtland Foundation is to provide Kirtland Community College and its students with resources to offer affordable and innovative educational opportunities to support every student in succeeding in college, in their career, and in their community.
Funds for the Kirtland Foundation winter scholarships are raised through donations from the private sector. These private sector benefactors are comprised of local businesses and individuals, and other foundations. Donations can be given to the foundation to be dispersed as they see fit or can be given directly to a singular scholarship program.
“I hope students take the time to apply for the Winter 2023 scholarships and those in our community contemplating a donation to help future students, please give the Foundation a call to talk more about starting a new scholarship,” said Appold.
