Roscommon-Higgins Lake Lions Club Launches Kirtland Foundation Scholarship to Empower Students Seeking Technical Education Degrees
In a commitment to the community and its young minds, the Roscommon-Higgins Lake Lions Club proudly announces the establishment of the Kirtland Foundation Roscommon-Higgins Lake Lions Club Scholarship. This scholarship fund aims to support graduates of Roscommon High School who aspire to pursue educational opportunities in specific technical fields. With a commitment to the community’s growth and the prosperity of its graduates, the Lions Club emphasizes their motto: WE SERVE!
“The Kirtland Foundation is thankful for the Roscommon Higgins Lake Lions Club endowment and other individuals and organizations who provide financial support to the students of Kirtland. It takes the generosity from those in our communities to truly make an impact on our students and invest in their futures,” said Kirtland Foundation Director Heather Appold. “By investing in an endowment your legacy will continue for years to come and help build stronger communities with qualified employees.”
The Roscommon-Higgins Lake Lions Club Scholarship is dedicated to providing financial assistance to students who have graduated from Roscommon High School. This initiative reflects the Lions Club’s dedication to fostering educational opportunities within the community.
To be eligible for the scholarship, students must be enrolled full-time or part-time in one of the specified programs, including Automotive Technology, Wood Science, HVAC-R, Welding & Fabricating, Electrician, Cyber Security, Information Technology, Industrial Automation & Controls Technology, or Cosmetology.
“Endowed scholarships such as this by the Lions Club are a great way to provide annual scholarships to students,” said Matt Buschbacher, Kirtland Foundation Board Treasurer. “Rather than relying on annual donations or pledges, endowed scholarships provide dependable funding benefiting students. The Lions Club endowed scholarship fund will ensure year after year another student receives the help they need to reach their educational goals.”
The Lions Club, in its donation towards this scholarship fund, is poised to make a lasting impact on the lives of students seeking to carve their paths in technical fields. The support extended by the Lions Club reflects a commitment to the betterment of both the individual recipients and the community at large.
“I am so thankful that the Roscommon Higgins Lake Lions Club chose me to be the recipient of this scholarship. It was very generous and your funding will be able to help me with my future goals,” said Alaina Stoyak, recipient of The Roscommon-Higgins Lake Lions Club Scholarship. “This scholarship helps me achieve these goals by making it possible to afford the schooling need for this career. College can be extremely expensive and every bit of money helps. When I first realized I received this scholarship, I was both thrilled and alleviated. When thinking about tuition costs among other college expenses, it can cause a lot of stress. But knowing that an organization wants to take some of that stress away is very comforting.”
Beyond the immediate impact, the Lions Club encourages the community to consider the significance of providing endowments. An endowment is a source of funding that continues to grow and support its intended purpose over time. By creating the Roscommon-Higgins Lake Lions Club Scholarship as a perpetual fund, the Lions Club is building a legacy of support for future generations.
Endowments are a testament to a community’s commitment to education. Individuals or organizations interested in contributing to or starting their own endowment are invited to reach out to the Kirtland Foundation. The Lions Club believes that collectively, the community can create a lasting impact on the educational landscape.
