MaryAnn Ferrigan

As a Kirtland Community College alum, MaryAnn Ferrigan is a longtime friend of the college and the surrounding community. After earning an associate degree in business from Kirtland in 1985, and then a Bachelor of Applied Science from Central Michigan University in 1988, Ferrigan went on to work in the title insurance industry for over 28 years. As a leader in the business, she went on to purchase Crawford County Title, and opened the Roscommon County Title and Charter Title in order to enhance the homebuying process in the region. She retired in 2017, after selling both the Crawford County and Roscommon County locations.

Elected to the Kirtland Board of Trustees in 2007, Ferrigan was nominated chair of the board in 2011. Her mission at Kirtland is to assure that students in the community have an affordable, accessible option for higher learning. With extensive experience and skills in management, land examination, accounting and organizational operations, she has led the board in several significant decisions to expand opportunities for students, including:

• Purchase of land for the Grayling campus
• Building of the Health Science Center and the Michigan Forest Products Institute
• Passing of the millage in Otsego County in 2018

Outside of the board, Ferrigan also serves as president of The AuSable Artisan Village Art Center, where she was one of the initial developers organizing community meetings to launch the center. She currently lives in Roscommon with her husband and enjoys traveling, art, including water painting, macramé and stain glass, landscaping, and spending time with family, especially her grandchildren.

Ferrigan will serve as chair of the board through December 2020.
