POL 3.005 Communications with the Public
The college was created and is partially funded by the electorate of the college district. Consequently, it is incumbent on those directly responsible for the operation of the college to keep the public informed on activities and programs.
The administration will establish procedures for disseminating communications relating to the activities of the college and its educational programs.
Employees will follow state and federal laws regarding dissemination of information about students.
All publicity concerning the college, its administrative staff, faculty, and students that are directed to mass communication media will be transmitted through the office of the president and the public information officer.
When speaking to the public or the press, board members will make it clear they are expressing their personal opinion, and not that of the Board of Trustees.
