Part-time Lead Tutor
Provides tutorial assistance to students with special learning problems. Assists the tutorial coordinator by observing and mentoring new tutors and assisting with other technical aspects of the tutorial program. Provides assistance and leadership at tutor training sessions, study stills workshops, and state conference.
PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES*
Tutors students, especially those with special learning problems.
Assists at tutor training sessions, study skills workshops, etc.; may be required to present his/her own workshops.
Develops original materials for training sessions and tutoring sessions.
Assists tutorial coordinator with charting, observation of new student tutors, etc.
Utilizes advanced training and expertise to benefit other tutors and the tutorial program.
Attends and participates in conferences and professional associations for tutors.
Performs other related tasks as required.
SUPERVISION – Works under the general supervision of the tutorial coordinator.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
- Associate Degree
- Successful completion of EDU 125 or its equivalent
- Must have attended a minimum of two tutorial conferences as well as participated in other seminars and workshops on tutorial issues and developmental/learning disabled issues. Training in LD issues should equal 25 hours of professional in-servicing
- Minimum of four semesters tutorial experience as a non-student tutor, or combination of education and experience commensurate with the requirements of this position
