POL 2.300 Possession & Use of Marijuana
In accordance with the Federal Drug-Free Schools and Communities Act of 1989, any institution that receives federal funds is required to implement and enforce federal drug policies. Federal law classifies marijuana as a Schedule 1 substance under the Controlled Substances Act. Kirtland Community College is a recipient of federal funds for student financial aid, therefore, Kirtland Community College prohibits the possession, consumption, cultivation, processing, distribution, or sale of marijuana in any form by any person on college grounds, facilities, or at events managed by the college.
Student violations will be subject to the Code of Student Conduct, Employees to the College Disciplinary Process, and contractors and guests may be removed from college premises and denied any further reentry.
