SHARP (Sexual Harassment and Rape Prevention) Workshops
The Public Safety Department will be offering a series of workshops every semester. Each session will be 2 hours. National statistics show there is a high incidence of sexual assault on college campuses. This information will help you to understand sexual assault and tools to lessen the possibility of this occurring. These workshops are open to any Kirtland student at no cost.
Winter 2015 semester workshops will be held on:
April 21 11 a.m.-1 p.m. in the Administration Center Room 135
April 22 2:30-4:30 p.m. in the Administration Center Room 135
You probably won’t realize the Public Safety officers are all around Kirtland — until you need one.
If you ever lock yourself out of your car, lose something or find yourself needing an escort, the people in the polo shirt and slacks, will be there to serve and protect you.
Your safety at Kirtland is more important than ever in this sometimes-crazy world. The tragic massacre at Virginia Tech was a catalyst for the Federal Cleary Act and as a result, Kirtland now has a broadcast alert system and up-to-date training to deal with an unlikely emergency of that magnitude.
As remote as the possibility may seem, should anything dangerous happen on campus, Kirtland’s Public Safety officers will make every attempt to keep you safe.
You’re more likely to need them when you have:
- locked your keys in your vehicle
- filed a personal protection order against someone and need an escort
- lost something of value
- need a jump
You are at Kirtland to learn or work. Public Safety officers are ready to help you when unpredictable events get in your way.
