Part-time Assistant Director, Kirtland Foundation
Responsible for assisting the Director of the Kirtland Foundation in the planning, development, and implementation of the Kirtland Foundation’s strategic plan and Path to Success program.

PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES*
- Manage the Kirtland Foundation Scholarship program which includes the raising and tracking of current and new scholarships for KCC students
- Help manage a new database to ensure that proper records are maintained including following the policies and procedures developed for the foundation.
- Must be able to work with donors, students, faculty, and staff as well as members of the communities in which we serve.
- Manage the scholarship stewardship program
- Manage the scholarship application process through Award Spring
- Must be able to work with young people ages 12-18 (7th grade to 12th grade) and perform activities, both internally and externally, that help promote the Path to Success program.
- Oversee the Path to Success student selection process. Organize and manage the student nomination and selection process and the induction ceremony working with local area schools.
- Plan and supervise Path to Success monthly activities, trips, recruit, and oversee chaperones.
- Prepare regular communication, including a newsletter, program website, and press releases.
- Develop and maintain a system for tracking student success and evaluating the program.
- Maintain confidential files to oversee and assist program participants.
- Coordinate services and maintain close ties with local schools and agencies as applicable.
- Assist with fundraising for the program through the Kirtland Foundation.
- Develop innovative and expanded program activities for Path to Success students in each phase of their schooling and participation in the program.
- Must meet reasonable expectations to ensure that all facets of the program are being met in a timely fashion.
- Work with the Kirtland Foundation Board of Directors and the President of Kirtland Community College
- Performs other duties as required.
SUPERVISION – Works under the direct supervision of the Foundation Director.
ATTENDANCE – Individuals in this position are generally expected to work 15-20 hours per week, including one Saturday per month. Hours may vary based on the needs of the programs as determined by the Foundation. Individuals in this position are expected to be available during the normal business hours of the college, and may occasionally be asked to vary their schedule to meet department requirements. May at times require day, evening, and/or weekend activity and travel.
WORKING CONDITIONS – Conditions are those of a typical office environment, requiring a professional image, demeanor, and reliability. There may be occasional travel to other locations for meetings, conferences, and training.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
- Associate degree required, Administration, or a related field.
- Valid State of Michigan driver’s license is required.
- Strategic planning and program development experience preferred
- Excellent interpersonal skills, time management, project management skills and experience.
- Ability to effectively communicate orally and in writing.
- Effective presentation, public speaking, and facilitation skills.
- Analytical ability to identify and resolve a variety of issues or challenges in an effective and timely manner.
- Ability to positively impact and lead middle school, high school, and college students.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office
- Willingness to learn new skills in a constantly changing environment
