POL 5.355 Payroll Policy
The Kirtland V.P. of Business Services is responsible for the accuracy and timeliness of the payroll data processed by the finance staff. Since employee wages, benefits, and employment taxes are major costs, the accuracy of this data is crucial to the overall accuracy of Kirtland’s accounting records and financial statements.
Pay Periods are every two weeks (biweekly). All paychecks for two weeks’ pay periods will be distributed within five working days after the last working day of the pay period. Paychecks are directly deposited into individual employee checking or savings accounts unless instructed.
Payroll deductions will be made for F.I.C.A., Federal and State Income Taxes, applicable health benefits, and any other amounts required by State or Federal law. These accumulated deductions will be submitted to the proper entity on or before their due date.
An accounting of deductions will be given to the employee as part of the payroll documentation.
