It’s never too late to go back to school. Now, with the Michigan Reconnect program, you can earn a degree or certificate tuition-free for in-district students (out-of-district students pay the difference). If you’ve been thinking about a new career in the trades, healthcare business or technology — now’s the time.
PROFESSIONAL TRADES
The professional trades programs at Kirtland Community College are designed to place graduates in high-paying careers, fast. And with the Michigan Reconnect program, eligible adults can attend tuition-free. If you’re a 25-year-old Michigan resident with a high school diploma and no college degree, you can get started immediately. Michigan Reconnect will pay for your training so when you enter your new career in manufacturing, construction and more, you won’t be burdened with college debt.
HEALTHCARE
Whether you’re interested in the kind of hands-on medical care nurses perform, or the technological intricacies that come with cardiac sonography, the health science programs at Kirtland will train you for exciting, meaningful careers, and offer access to secure future in medicine. And thanks to the Michigan Reconnect program, your medical degree or certificate can be earned virtually free. The statewide financial aid program is designed for people like you — adults who are ready to go back to school and could use the financial assistance.
Business and technology — ALL ONLINE!
Our business degrees and certificates are sure to fit your needs and they’re 100% online, without the need for you to ever step foot on campus! We’ve been teaching online for years; it’s one of the things we do best. We’re always online, with programs specifically designed and tailored for the virtual classroom, with robust online resources and faculty who know how to teach students online from decades of experience.
The Information Technology program at Kirtland Community College blends theory and practical, real-world know-how, giving graduates the skills they need to succeed in the workplace, and the adaptability to grow along with the industry. And the classes are all online, giving you freedom and flexibility to live life AND earn your education. So even by attending class you’re gaining skills with the very tools you’ll be using in your career. Students working toward an associate degree in information technology will gain exposure to computer systems, networks, and technical topics.
An associate degree in Cyber Security from Kirtland can take you anywhere—Michigan, around the country and around the globe. Students earn six different certifications during the program, and leave prepared to take additional tests for extensive industry certifications. This makes Kirtland graduates especially prepared to enter the workforce. In fact, many students start doing freelance work during their studies. Our program also aligns with designated NSA knowledge units, and prepares students to continue their study in a bachelor’s degree program.
who qualifies for michigan reconnect?
In order to be eligible for Michigan Reconnect, adults must meet the following criteria:
- Age 25 or older
- High school graduate or equivalent
- Michigan resident for at least one year
- Not yet completed a college degree (associate or bachelor’s)
